The exterior is hand-chiselled — deliberately rough,
textured like the surface of ancient stone pulled
from the earth. The interior tells a different story.
Smooth, polished, luminous.

That contrast is the point.

The Batik is carved from a single block of natural
marble. No two pieces carry the same marks —
the chiselling is done by hand, which means every
basin is a record of the person who made it.
